Thursday, April 21st, 2011

Whether your garage door is broken and needs to be replaced or you are just looking to upgrade to something that better suits your house, there are a few things you need to consider in order to find that perfect fit.

The first step in finding a new garage door is to pick a material. A steel garage door is low-maintenance in any climate. Wood doors offer a classy more decorative look but they require more frequent upkeep. Composite doors, which are made of 100% recycled wood are a newer option that combines the strength of steel doors and the decorative appeal of wood doors without the upkeep. Many garage doors are offered in standard sized but before you buy one, make sure that it will fit in your garage. If there isn’t a standard fit for your home, you may need to find a manufacturer that offers custom fit sizes.
