All garage doors work on a RF (radio fqeurency). It is rare for two people to have a opener on the same freqency but it is possiable. If this is a one time occurence I would not worry. Each remote control is programmed to the opener. If your concerned it could happen again Id contact the manufacture. You might Google the opener name and model for more info as to how to change the fqeurency in the opener. Good luck
